What we store and why

When you rate a talk

Your scores, selected descriptions, comment and the time. To prevent duplicate and abusive ratings we also store a random device ID (from a cookie), a keyed one-way hash of your IP address (we do not store the IP itself), your country (derived from the IP), and your browser's user-agent string. Your comment is public. The other technical data is visible only to moderators. Legal basis: legitimate interest (GDPR Art. 6(1)(f)) in running a fair, abuse-free rating service. We keep it as long as the rating is online.

Presenter profiles

Presenter names, organizations and talk titles come from public conference programmes. We process them on the basis of legitimate interest, so attendees can make informed choices and presenters receive feedback. Presenters may object at any time using the removal form.

Messages and suggestions

If you contact us or suggest a talk, we store what you send (including your e-mail address, if given) to process and answer it. We delete it after at most 2 years.

Visitor statistics

We count page views without cookies and without third-party tracking. For each page view we store the page, the referring website, country, device type, and a hash that changes every day, which lets us count unique visitors per day but not recognise you on another day. Raw data is deleted after 90 days. Only daily totals are kept after that.

Cookies

We use one strictly necessary cookie (rmp_d, a random device ID used to prevent duplicate ratings and votes, valid for 13 months) and, for administrators only, a login cookie. No advertising or analytics cookies, so there is no cookie banner.

Processors

The site and database are hosted by Cloudflare, Inc., which processes data on our behalf under the EU Standard Contractual Clauses and the EU–US Data Privacy Framework. We do not sell data or share it with advertisers.

Your rights

You have the right to access, correct or delete your data, to restrict or object to its processing, and to data portability. Because ratings are anonymous, tell us which rating is yours (for example by sending the request from the same browser via the contact form) so we can find it. You can also complain to the Hungarian National Authority for Data Protection and Freedom of Information (NAIH, naih.hu) or the data protection authority in your country.
